Bainbridge Island Farmers Market

The arrival of Spring on Bainbridge Island is not only welcome respite from the long months of rain and darkness, it also ushers in one of my favorite island institutions: The Bainbridge Island Farmers Market.

This year it will run each Saturday, 10am to 2pm, from April 9 through the end of November. If you are new to Bainbridge Island, I highly suggest a visit. It has an open and festive atmosphere for people of all ages. Treat yourself to live music, locally sourced food, flowers, wines, artisan clothing, art, plants for your garden, and more.

The market is in the Winslow Town Square in front of the Bainbridge Performing Arts and BI City Hall building.

Since its inception in 1990, the Market’s has steadily evolved to accommodate a growing island population. Today the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market hosts over 40 local vendors, including farmers, food vendors, and crafters with artisan-made goods.

Much like the First Friday Art Walk, visiting the farmers market is a great way to meet new people, run into old friends, and enjoy a festive and lively atmosphere. I hope to see you there!
